Cause

The ink absorber is full.

Ink used during cleaning and other processes is captured in the ink absorber. The Printer will not be able to print when the ink absorber is full.

What to Do

The action you should take to resume operating the printer depends upon which function you intend to use.

1. To PRINT or COPY

   The ink absorber needs to be replaced. Contact Canon for repair as soon as possible.

2. To SCAN

   You should take one of the following steps:

   - Tap [Stop] on the printer if you intend to scan by using the operation panel on the printer. You will be able to scan.

   OR

   - Scan from an external device such as a computer, smartphone, or tablet using the corresponding application software.

Note

• In the case of warnings or errors caused by remaining ink levels, the printer cannot print or scan.
